Cromwell, CT, December 7, 2020– FibreDust LLC, producers of high-quality coir products, is excited to announce Phase 4 development of the FD Berries operation in Jalisco Mexico.  Further expansion of our soft fruit growing operation in Mexico has been completed with the acquisition of Agroetik.  Agroetik operates on 100 acres, of which 4 acres figs, 22 acres are raspberry, and 22 acres blueberry, with the remaining area scheduled for planting in 2021.  A family farm, Agroetik in under six years has grown to include a staff of 66 people.  Located in beautiful Usmajac, State of Jalisco, Mexico, the farm now grows Biloxi, and Sophia blueberries, and Adelita raspberry varieties.

Conservation of water is important to the growing needs of the farm and a 5 million liters reservoir has been utilized for the past 4 growing seasons.  “We are proud of what FD berries has been able to accomplish in such a short time.  We have grown from a small operation of 100 acres to over 300 with plans for continued growth into 2021.  We are targeting 500 acres by 2024!” said Fibredust President Sam Ahilan.  “Agroetik is a wonderful addition to FD Berries and the Fibredust family” he continued. “With Fibredust and FD Berries know-how, Phase 4 expansion will be even faster with excellent quality soft fruits”, said Guillermo Mendoza operations manager

For the transaction, Fibredust was advised by Portilla, Ruy-Diaz y Aguilar, and Agroetik was Advised by Andersen Consulting in Mexico, a member firm of Andersen Global.
